High School seniors can qualify and win a $2,500 education grant

Meet the 2011scholarship winners

Each school year high school seniors, who live in a home served by SECO Energy, have the opportunity to win a $2,500 scholarship to further their education. The next opportunity to apply for a scholarship will be in the Spring of 2012.

Applications will be available at area high school guidance offices, at any of SECO’s customer service centers located in Marion, Lake, Citrus and Sumter counties, at the corporate offices in Sumterville and online after the first of the new calendar year.

Scholarship selections are based on past and present achievements in school, community service, financial need and scholastic records. An independent panel of educators from SECO's service territory evaluates all applicants and selects each year's winners.

If your high school senior can answer yes to ALL three questions below, they are eligible to apply:

  • Do you live in a home served by SECO Energy?
  • Are you currently a high school senior?
  • Will you be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school by the end of the calendar year following high school graduation?
