The deadline to apply for a 2010 Scholarship has passed. Each school year high school seniors, who live in a home served by SECO Energy, have the opportunity to win a $2,500 scholarship to further their education.
The next opportunity to apply for a SECO Scholarship will be in 2011. A new application will be available online and at all area offices and schools by mid-January of 2011.
Applications will be available at area high school guidance offices and at any of SECO’s customer service centers in Marion, Lake, Citrus and Sumter counties and online.
Selections are based on past and present achievements in school, community service, financial need and scholastic records. An independent panel of educators from SECO's service territory evaluates all applicants and selects each year's winners.
If you can answer yes to ALL three questions below, you are eligible to apply:
- Do you live in a home served by SECO Energy?
- Are you currently a high school senior?
- Will you be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school by the end of the calendar year following high school graduation?
